ASIA DESIGN WEEK EXHIBITION

In collaboration with mREGA

This exhibition is  organized by Asia Design Week,

co-organized by (mREGA) Malaysian Graphic Design Association, Macao Poster Design Association, Design Asia Collective and hosted by De Institute of Creative Arts and Design, UCSI University.

3190 submissions were received from domestic (China)  and International. By  collecting and showcasing the outstanding works of designers from multiple countries, has created a visual and intellectual feast that transcends national boundaries. It aims to display the cultural charm of China and ASEAN countries under the background of the "Belt and Road Initiative", and further promote cultural exchanges and cooperation among regions. These selected works were subsequently exhibited in Mahasarakhan University Thailand 12-13 October, Bangkok and University Malaya 28-31 October.


The opening ceremony brought together heavyweight guests from multiple fields such as design, education and culture. The opening ceremony of this event was organized by De Institute of Creative Arts and Design, UCSI University, and was hosted by Xu Qiyu, a doctoral student at UCSI University. This event attracted extensive attention from the international design community. The leaders and guests present at the opening ceremony included:

Li Sheng: Founder and CEO of Asia Design Week

 

Miao Ping: Associate Professor of Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in China, Director, School of Humanities (Dalian) center for innovation and entrepreneurship, Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts. PhD in design.

 

Melisa Wong Meng San: Secretary-General of the Malaysian Graphic Design Association and the Design Asia Collective

Wang Tao: Associate Professor Wang Tao, School of Art and Design, Anyang Institute of Technology

 

Xia Qing: Lecturer at Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts. Doctor at the Academy of Arts and Design, Tsinghua University

 

Liu Yuliang: Lecturer at Hebei Institute of Fine Arts, Doctor of Philosophy in Design 

 

Zhu Lin:  PhD at the Academy of Arts and Design, Tsinghua University

 

And the teachers and students of De Institute of Creative Arts and Design, UCSI University

 

Professor Dr. Khairul Aidil Azlin, the Director of De Institute of Creative Arts and Design, UCSI University, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, stating that this exhibition, using posters and digital art as media, has built a bridge for cultural dialogue between China and ASEAN countries, vividly demonstrating the integration and innovation of Asian urban cultures. Through the selection of over a hundred outstanding works, we have presented a new trend in art where traditional elements and cutting-edge digital technologies interweave, highlighting the vigorous vitality of regional creative forces. This event not only deepens mutual understanding and emotional resonance among civilizations but also injects continuous vitality into cross-cultural cooperation and the development of the creative industry.
